Inkpunk Paintings

I first came across the Inkpunk style of imagery when exploring/playing with ai – I have always seen ai as a tool, something which I could use to explore concepts or ideas rather than using it as a substitute to my own creativity. What I found with Inkpunk was a digital style of imagery that was already similar to the work I was creating but added even more lines, motions and elements that gave the images more of a comic book feel.

I wanted to explore how this style could be used and incorporated within my own work, not using it to create images – but rather taking inspiration from its style and adding those elements into my work to create Inkpunk Paintings that I had created rather than using ai to produce. One of the biggest changes from the ai version was to use my usual bright and bold colour aesthetic within the work – Inkpunk usually uses muted colours with cold colour palettes which is quite the opposite to how I like my paintings to be – vibrant, bright and in your face.
